Another Pipeline Profits Horror Story

February 16, 2007

Well after seeing this thread I thought I would get my 2 cents in as well…

I bought in probably 2 minutes after the site went live in order to get Frank Kern’s email bonus as it was limited to the first 200 members…only to find out later they gave it to everyone who joined. Just a bunch of marketing hype…Strike 1

The “server crash” was no crash at all…my perspective as to what happened is as follows…during my checkout process (2 minutes into the launch) “they realized” their money back guarantee said 365 days (obviously part of the original sales letter for the initial launch with Stomper Members back in November)and they had to take their page down…edit the money back guarantee to 30 days (supposedly because their “merchant account said so”) and then upload the “newly revised page. The site basically froze on me as I was registering for the members forum. I did not receive any confirmation email with anything from them other than a receipt email. Only after I sent several support ticket requests over several days (with no reply) did I find their phone # on the original receipt email and was able to get them to send me the correct url for the members area as well as emails from Pipeline Profits letting me know what was going on.

I did see the 365 day MBG…I did buy with that in mind and I was upset afterwards when I saw in their forum that it is now only a 30 day MBG…Strike 2

During my phone conversation with whoever was answering the phone that day I asked when should I expect to receive the Pipeline Profits package. I was told 10 to 15 business days…I asked her why that wasn’t pointed out in the sales letter? No reply…Breaking News…during the coaching call on February the 7th they announced the Pipeline Profits packages would be shipped sometime this coming week..the week of February the 12th. Well you don’t have to be a rocket scientist to realize that this whole “shipping of the product and MBG” were designed to not give you a chance to look it over.

The lauch was on January 18th…they ship the product to you on February 12th if you are lucky via UPS ground…you receive it on February 16th (a Friday)if you are lucky…the day before your 30day MBG expires….funny how this all works…isn’t it? Strike 3

I wouldn’t want to believe that Pipeline Profits would purposely bait us with a 365 day MBG and then quietly switch it to 30 days…I wouldn’t want to believe that we would be baited with the promise of 20 cent co-reg leads (which don’t exist) to give the little guy the illusion he or she can succeed (I mean give them $1,800 to $2,100 depending on the payment plan)…I wouldn’t want to believe that IM Gurus would endorse this program if it wasn’t all we were told it would be…(but being each guru would receive close to $1,000 for each person who signed up from their list)…well sorry to say…I think they all would do and did do all of the above.

I don’t think the little guy or the new guy should touch this program at all. This program is designed for the internet marketer who has their own product and has real stats and a real history of what his product’s sales are….and has a sizeable bank account to finance the co-reg leads that are going to be 40 cents and higher depending on the market.

Well, that is my 2 cents!

Oh, I almost forgot I am an online merchant and I just had a chargeback come against my merchant account a few weeks ago. The credit card processer’s position is not to give you time to respond before they take the money out of your account…the money comes out first and only then are you, the merchant, even notified…then you can respond in order to “try” and get the money back in your account.

Can Hosting Make Me Money?
By Michael Pine

What? Surely this is an oxymoron. Most people think that they pay money for their hosting to the hosting company not the other way around. Well, in actual fact the web hosting industry is a massive money spinner for many wealthy affiliates who drive traffic to the hosting sites and then get a share of the profits produced.

Firstly, let’s get one thing straight. The market for Web hosting is absolutely enormous. Think about it. There are millions of websites out there on the internet and they all require hosting. There is also a massive amount of growth in the industry because so many newcomers that are desperate for a piece of the action and are putting up websites at an unbelievable rate. Therefore, you will not need to worry about whether or not there are customers out there to be found. Your job is simply to find them.

Another phenomenal reason for getting your share of the hosting affiliate business is that it is seriously lucrative. Some hosting companies are paying out more than $100.00 per person that signs up. If you could sell a few of these per week you would be doing pretty well! There are a multitude of ways that you can do this including offline advertising, PPC and forum advertising. You must treat it seriously and as a proper business if you want to succeed because there will be some stiff competition out there that you will have to fend off to get your share.

A great way to add an additional stream of income is to do so through ADSense and hosting. You could have a page all about hosting and slap some ADSense ads all over. You may get paid up to $5.00 per click by doing this. If you were to sprinkle in some affiliate links too you would have a site well and truly set up to make big bucks.

Residual income is what everyone strives for. That is when you do the work once and then continued to get paid for a far longer period of time. Since hosting requires that you make monthly payments to keep your website online it means that you can benefit from this concept. Some hosting companies will give you $10.00 per month as long as the person you referred to them doesn’t cancel the hosting. If you can refer 100 people to a program like that then you would have a monthly income of $1000.00 without having to do anything. That is very nice and exactly what you must aim for!

Free Hosting – What Are The Drawbacks?
By Michael Pine

A great place for anyone to start would seem to be that of using free hosting as an easy method of getting their first site off the ground. It looks as though there is absolutely no way you could lose out by using free hosting as you aren’t paying anything whatsoever. However, when looking at the bigger picture it can be easy to see that you may actually be losing out in a big way!

With free-web hosting you are almost certainly going to be getting Ads put on you site. This is the Web Hosts way of making money from you in spite of the fact that you aren’t paying a monthly sum of money for the hosting. This can have several drawbacks. The first of these is fairly obvious and it is that if you are getting a lot of traffic to your site then the Web hosting company will be making a lot of money from the ads whereas you are not. For instance, if you send over a healthy dose of traffic to your newly launched site then the hosting company may be getting a lot of clicks on the ads they are placing on your site. Let’s suppose that they are making $200.00 from those Ads in the month. Now if you were to spend $5.00 per month on getting proper Ad Free hosting then you could be making that $200.00 instead of the hosting company. Therefore, you may be losing $195.00 per month by not being willing to pay for hosting. That certainly doesn’t make good business sense. Admittedly, these numbers are all just theoretical, however, it is definitely a point well worth paying attention to. Another issue is that you may have no control over the content of the Ads being displayed on your site. They may not be to your liking and this could also lose you the credibility you are trying really hard to gain with your website audience.

With Free Web hosting the support and service that you get will also be a lot less than that experienced with a paid service. If you are experienced with websites then this may not be a problem but if you are not then it is well advised to get a package that will really support your needs. If you are an experienced webmaster then it is also extremely unlikely that you would even consider forfeiting the benefits of paid hosting for the sake of a few dollars saved per month.

Just to summarize it could be said that free web hosting is a decent option for the cash strapped beginner. However, after further inspection it should maybe be questioned that if you can’’t afford a few dollars a month for a proper hosting account then should you really be starting at all?
